Board of Guardians

The Edinburgh Jewish Board of Guardians was founded in the city in 1891. Its sole purpose was charitable: to offer financial help to Jewish people and organisations who were in financial need, for whatever reason. Over a period of many years, the Board has distributed considerable funds to deserving individuals and bodies with the emphasis being on strict confidentiality. Any member of the Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation is able to refer such cases to the Executive for consideration.
