Cosgrove Library

The Cosgrove Library, situated in the Succah adjoining the Synagogue, was presented to the Edinburgh Jewish Community on 25 August 1985 by Malcolm and John Cosgrove in memory of their father, Rev. Dr I.K. Cosgrove D.L. J.P., who was minister of Garnethill Synagogue, Glasgow.

This excellent library, comprising some 1400 books, covers a wide variety of subjects including; Judaism, both for the casual and the serious reader; Jewish history and beliefs; Israel; the Festivals; novels; humour; and biographies of men and women who have left their mark both in the Jewish and non-Jewish world.

Members of the community can borrow reading material by contacting the Honorary Librarian, when a mutually convenient time can be arranged for access to the library.
